Organize Your Movies

Back in college, my way of spending the allowances I have saved is to buy cassette tapes. Over the years, the collection just grew and grew, to the point that I had to catalog it so I will know if one is missing. In the drawer where I kept all the tapes, is a small notebook where all the tapes are listed, and each list is divided into years so I will know which is the oldest and how the line-up according to the age is.

All of us have our own collection. Most often than not, when our collection grows, there's an urge in us to document the collection so we won't forget an item in that collection. Some collect toys, others collect mugs, while others collect movies. I remember when I was a kid, when Betamax was all the rage, I would write all the movies we've rented so we won't forget which movies we've watched already. I would list down the actors in the movie, as well as write a line of how I think the movie was. Too bad I wasn't able to save that paper.

Anyway, if you're an avid movie collector, chances are you really need to have a movie organizer, so you can arrange all the discs you've bought. Nowadays, it's not really just about shelving your discs according to genre or arranging it alphabetically. Being an avid collector means organizing the collection down to its little details.

I chanced upon seeing this DVD catalog software, and I was thinking that this might be a good gift for my brother because not too long ago, he started cataloging all the James Bond movies. He's a very big fan of the Ian Fleming character, and he actually "inherited" our late father's James Bond movie discs! In my brother's catalog, he listed all the titles, the actors (as well as the directors and other key people in the movie) along with they synopsis. This catalog has made my brother venture into adding other movies he has loved in the collection, and since it will be his birthday next month, I think this would be the perfect gift for him.

Do check it out, too, if you have the time. I am sure, you will be interested in it, too!
