Santan

Wonderful Cave

I saw these blooms in the Wonderful Cave in Bolinao, Pangasinan. I love these santan flowers because it bring back childhood memories. When we were kids, these flowers were all the rage in the neighborhood (every house have some), and us kids would sometimes lounge near the flowers and sip the nectars from each flower.

Each flower actually have some sweet liquid inside that kids like us back then got addicted into. Now that most houses here have concrete gardens, the kids in this generation have not experienced the joy of feeling busy bees sipping the nectars. I have a 19-year-old sister that didn't know about it, actually. I feel sorry for her.

Gorgeous! I've never seen anyone over here in Sweden. It's probable the harsh climate zone we got here.

That's one of the reasons why I love to travel so much - I get to see what plants there are in other countries!
